The county seat of Sonoma County in the state of California, USA is Santa Rosa. The city has bagged the popularity for being the largest city of Sonoma County and fifth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area. The city therefore serves the gateway to the Sonoma and Nepa Valleys of California's widely known Wine Country. Wineries and vineyards are dotted around the city and a number of places of tourist attractions are present in the city like Russian River Resort Area, Jack London state Historic Park, and Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. Santa Rosa has an airport called Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport situated in the north of the city. Very recently the airport was turned into a commercial aviation center with the airlines called Horizon Air declaring that it would fly daily flights from Santa Rosa to Seattle and Los Angeles. Before that the airport was chiefly used for general aviation. Thus at present Horizon Air plies flights from Santa Rosa to Seattle, US.

Horizon Air is a regional airlines that has its base at Seattle with Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as its main operation center. Horizon Air has other hubs at Denver, Boise, Portland, and Spokane. Horizon Air has a contract agreement with Frontier Airlines for plying flights to different destinations across US as well as to the world. The airlines is not very old as it started its operation in the year 1981. Horizon Air shares its activities, bookings, and connection services with other major airlines like Alaska Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, and KLM. Further the airlines shares its express jet services with Frontier Airlines. Horizon Air has other hubs at Denver, Boise, Portland, and Spokane.

As a regional airline operating mainly domestic flights to the cities of US, it is natural that the airlines will fly regular flights to the International Airports of the country. Since Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport is the only airport of the city of Santa Rosa, the airlines has started regular flights to the airport.
