The city of Fresno is the county seat of Fresno County and is the sixth largest city of the state of California, United States. The city is the cultural and economic center of Fresno metropolitan area, which is the second largest metropolitan area in the Central Valley, that is the valley occupying the middle of the state of California. And the nearest airport is the Fresno Yosemite International Airport, which until recently was known as Fresno Air Terminal. The airport caters to two international destinations and mainly concentrates on domestic passengers. Fresno Yosemite International Airport is the first airport of the country to install a web based wireless system in order to keep a record of the arrivals and departures of flights. From this airport, Horizon Air plies direct flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. In fact, Horizon Air is the only airlines that serves flights from Fresno to Seattle.

Another airport of the city of Fresno is Fresno Chandler Executive Airport that lies 8 km northeast of Fresno Yosemite International Airport. But this airport is used primarily for general aviation.
Though the city has a third airport named Sierra Sky Park Airport, but this airport too is a public airport. Thus the only airport that serves the interest of the tourists is Fresno Yosemite International Airport and the only airlines that ply flights from Fresno to Seattle is Horizon Air
