CommutAir was established in the year 1989 and began their service from the month of August in the same year. The company had made a marketing affiliation with the US Airways and for the first few days they also had a code share agreement with them but then after the expiry date was over. In the year 2002 the company started its operation from a micro hub in Albany in New York.
In the years 2003 and 2004 CommutAir provided services to many major cities of the United States. They were Allentown, Harrisburg, Rochester, Burlington, Portland, Bangor, Providence, White Plains and many others. In the year 2003, the company has signed an agreement with the Continental Airlines to serve for the hub in Cleveland, Ohio.
CommutAir has gained popularity by providing cheap services to the passengers and their comprehensive works are really praiseworthy. The main services of CommutAir are to the destinations like Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, Covington, Detroit, Lexington, Boston in the state Massachusetts, Albany, Elmira, Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, White Plains in New York. CommutAir is in talks with Horizon Air about the launching of new sixteen Bombardier Q-200 Dash 8 aircraft. There is also a discussion going on about the relocation of the headquarter of CommutAir to the Midwest.
