American Airlines

American Airlines is one of the major international airlines in USA. It is the largest airline in the whole world as far as the total number of passengers and the fleet size is concerned. The airline is owned by AMR Corporation. The headquarter of American Airlines is in Fort Worth in Texas. The headquarter is attached to the international airport in Dallas. American Airlines has flights that covers almost all the nooks and crannies of America. They have flights that serve domestically as well as internationally. The flights that serve internationally goes to Canada, Western Europe, Japan, China, and India. In the year 2005, American Airlines made a record of carrying the largest number of passengers in the history of aviation.

From the recent most survey, it is known that American Airlines plies between one hundred fifty seven cities and the fleet is of six hundred and seventy aircraft. The lion's share of the passengers of American Airlines travel between USA and Latin America. The number of passengers traveling to Latin America is less than the passengers traveling to any other places. American Airlines has five main bases in the United States.
They are Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Saint Louis and San Juan. Among all the airports that are covered by the flights of American Airlines, the two prominent ones are Los Angeles International Airport and New York City Airport, which is named as John F. Kennedy Airport.

American Airlines has a special branch that looks after the passengers to Texas and it serves domestically. The name of this branch is American Eagle Airlines. American Airlines' name is also enlisted among the members of Oneworld Airline Alliance. The name of American Airlines came flashing in the media when the 9/11 terrorist attack took place in the United States. This incident claimed two AA flights which were hijacked by the extremists led by Osama bin Laden. There were many commercial slogans that has been used by American Airlines. In the 1980s American Airlines used “Something special in the air”, then following the 9/11 attack it changed into “We are an airline that is proud to bear the name American”. And the recent slogan in use is “We know why you fly”.
