AirTran Airways was established in the year 1993 and begun their service from the month of September in the same year. The previous name of AirTran Airways was Conquest Sun Airlines, which was changed by the next year. AirTran Airways uses two kinds of fleet, they are Boeing 717-200 and Boeing 737-700. The number of flights owned by AirTran Airways is eighty seven in the first category and forty seven in the next one.
The body color of the planes are generally white with teal on the ventral side. There are also red and blue stripes at the front. From the November month in the year 2006 AirTran Airways has begun a nonstop service between Atlanta and Phoenix Sky Harbour. In the same year the company also became the partner of Frontier Airlines.
AirTran Airways are in talks about their service in the Midwest. In the month of December in 2006, the authority announced that they were planning to buy Midwest Airlines but the offer was later on rejected. Among all the destinations that are covered by AirTran Airways the important ones are the Bahamas, Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver in Colorado, Orlando, Tampa Bay, West Palm Beach, Pensacola in Florida and many other prominent cities in USA.
